POST MORTEM: 'Coroner's Office' Retrospective Published

About.com has published an extensive retrospective on the making of Boston punk metal pioneers POST MORTEM's album "Coroner's Office".

Vocalist John McCarthy, who recently passed away at the age of 40, was interviewed by Justin M. Norton for the piece in 2008. The retrospective includes his final published interview and thoughts on the album that is now considered an under recognized classic.

In the story, McCarthy talks about how the album was recorded for roughly $900 and why people still don't know how to classify "Coroner's Office".

"Our whole concept was that we honestly didn't give a fuck. That's why we're lumped in with punk rock as well as metal," McCarthy said in the interview, adding: "It's much better to piss off people who think they're pissed off than to piss off your grandma or your mother or your father."

The retrospective also includes a track-by-track commentary by McCarthy and guitarist John Alexander.
